Individuals applying for a permanent residence through the Self-Employed Persons Program must have at least two years experience in cultural activities or athletics, and should be able to contribute to the cultural or athletic community of Canada. Farm management is another route that applicants can take, to apply through the SPP. If taking the farm management route, applicants must have farm management experience. You must also have intentions and the means to buy and manage a farm in Canada. Applicants are selected based on their field experience, education, age,language abilities, and adaptability. They must also be medically fit to work in Canada, and have no issues with the law. Thus, a medical exam and police report is required of both the applicant and the applicant’s family.
